WHY WE BUILT IT

Broiler records normally live in four different places

A notebook, a whiteboard, a messaging thread, and your own head. By the time you sit down to work out what the flock made, the pieces no longer fit back together.

PROBLEM 01

Recorded, but no way to judge it

Eight birds down today — is that high or normal? Average weight 2,050 g — is the flock growing well? Without something to compare against, there is nothing to judge.

The day-11 booster, the withdrawal period on a treatment, the weigh-in you still have not done this week — in a busy week something always slips.

Feed and chicks are simple enough. Employer insurance contributions, the house write-down, the empty days between flocks — those usually never make it into the sum.

The corner number is the workflow order — it never changes, so anyone new can simply work through it and miss nothing.
The small tag top-right is what is due today — not logged, due today, overdue. With nothing pending, nothing is shown.

FOUR THINGS IT DOES WELL

Not a logbook — a tool that reads the numbers with you

These four are where ChickMoney genuinely differs from an ordinary bookkeeping app.

① House environment, read and assessed

Enter the house once — length, width, height, whether it has a ceiling, how many fans and what size. After that, walk the house and log the temperature; everything else is worked out for you.

Target temperature — from the age curve (33°C at day 0 → 20°C by day 35), with a tolerance band
Effective temperature — air movement makes birds feel cooler; 3 m/s is worth roughly 7°C of wind chill
Ventilation rate — 0.6 minimum, 6.0 m³/hr per kg of live weight in hot weather
Stocking density — two thresholds, 33 and 40 kg/m²

Every line states measured value vs target value, and where something is off it gives you an action. The assessment is purely rule-based and every rule is published in the documentation, so your vet can check them line by line — no black box.

② Vaccination programme and drug withdrawal

A standard Taiwanese broiler vaccination programme is built in. When you create a flock it is scheduled onto real calendar dates from the placement day (placement day counts as day 1).

Days 1–3: ND+IB live vaccine in the drinking water, plus ND+IBD inactivated by injection
Booster on days 11–14, live water booster on day 21
Three routes: live in drinking water, live by spray, or inactivated by injection
Several vaccines can fall on the same day; the template is yours to add to or trim
Medications are entered by product name, with day-age, duration and dose (ppm or dilution ratio)

⚠️ Enter the withdrawal period and the app calculates the earliest permitted catching date — the harvest planner blocks it in red, so birds do not go out inside withdrawal by accident.

This is decision support, not a promise. Contract growers should work to their contract terms.

④ Net profit, worked out per bird

Production income, direct costs, operating expenses and other income are listed in tiers, and every tier opens up to the detail behind it.

Enter a monthly salary and the employer's labour insurance, health insurance, pension and occupational-injury contributions are calculated for you (2026 official Taiwan brackets)
House rent and loan interest are apportioned over the flock cycle (grow-out days plus empty-house days)
Rooftop solar income is prorated across the days the flock occupies
Two net profit figures side by side: broiler production alone, and production including solar
Finally, total cost per bird and net profit per bird, divided by the birds actually caught

This screen shows that 80,000-bird flock finished out: NT$973,000 gross production margin, less NT$185,000 of labour and NT$210,000 of farm-level fixed costs, plus NT$38,000 back from solar — NT$615,000 net profit, NT$8 per bird. How far gross margin sits from net profit is exactly what this table shows you at a glance.
